The Organ @ The Soul Tree, Cambridge, March 2006

In my humble opinion this female Canadian band should be "way up there" instead of the likes of half the trash on the market. They play 80s inspired new wave music that would keep most Blondie/Smiths/Cure fans happy for hours, but they do it with a new edge. I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to cut it live but was pleased as punch with their performance because they managed to be mesmeric and understated and they just oozed nonchalant charisma. I swear to god that when I closed my eyes I felt like I was listening to Peter Hook, Debbie Harry, Robert Smith, Depeche Mode and Editors playing songs with lyrics written by Morrissey. And what made it so much more startling was that you could tell that the vocalist (Katie?) meant every single word of what she was singing. Stunning.
