Officer Kicks & Giant Drag @ Cambridge Soul Tree, July 2006

Went to this very sweaty gig just before heading off on holiday and, it was a corker. Officer Kicks had the wit, confidence and savvy to pull off a string of catchy tunes. Verging on old school rock and early brit pop they really made an impression. I'm looking forward to checking them out again at the festivals to see how they rise to a bigger crowd.

Giant Drag were a real pleasure to watch. Just two in the band - one taking control of the vocals and guitar and the other with the drums and keyboard. Yes, you did read that right - he played drums and keyboard, at the same time! Incredible in itself but made even better because the music was great. Don't really know how to describe them but suffice to say they were so good that I bought the album the very next day.
